Dubai Municipality has launched a new system which aims to speed up the processes to construct industrial buildings in the emirate.
The Buildings Department in the Municipality announced the new system for registering the contractors and activating the design and execution of industrial buildings.
It will allow the contractor to design industrial buildings and supervise their implementation without the need to appoint a consultancy office.
"This will reflect positively on the fast completion of the projects and its cost and will open the door to investment," a statement said.
Layali Al Mulla, director of Buildings Department said that the number of industrial projects submitted for building licences in the traditional system was 233 during 2017.
She added that the new system will reduce the cost of projects by more than 6 percent of the total project value and will accelerate the implementation of projects by at least 25 percent.
Al Mulla said the department will start conducting seminars on March 26 to introduce the new initiative to building owners and contractors.
