Dr. Tidu Maini has been in his role as executive chairman of the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) since June 2007, when he was appointed by Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al Missned, chairperson of Qatar Foundation. He has served as a senior technology leader in both industry and academia, most recently as Imperial College London’s head of technology transfer from January 2001 until his appointment to the QSTP. Dr Maini has 30 years of experience in the management of technology companies in the defence, electronics and energy sectors. His CV includes management of businesses in Europe, US, Asia and the Middle East. He was senior vice president of Schlumberger Inc, main board member of Sema Group, deputy chairman of GEC Marconi, and managing director of GEC Software Systems. In addition to his role at the QSTP, he holds positions with the Qatar Government Committee for Small and Medium Size Industries, is chairman of the London 2012 Olympic Technology Board and is a trustee of the Emirates Foundation. He holds a PhD and BSc in Engineering from Imperial College and was a Post Doctoral Fellow of the University of California Berkeley.
