Born
in 1932 in India’s Gujarat
state, Bharatbhai Shah left India
at just fifteen to study in Yemen,
before he got his first job as an agent for Choithram. He went into business
full time, working with ready-made garments, oil and electronics before in
1962, he moved to the UAE where he was appointed the Middle
East coordinator for Reliance Industries. With so much experience
in the business world it’s hardly surprising Shah founded his own UAE-based
business, Al Mustaneer Trading, which is now a well established business in its
own right. But Shah isn’t just known for his business activities; he is also
works tirelessly for charities and is often referred to as Dada or the Godfather
for his philanthropic ways.
