Ashok Aram

Company: Deutsche Bank MENA

In September last year, Deutsche Bank, Germany’s biggest bank, appointed Aram as its new CEO for the MENA. Indian-educated Aram originally moved to Dubai to head up private equity firm Abraaj Capital, where he was appointed managing director.

However, he has a strong connection with the German bank as, prior to his move to Abraaj, he worked with Deutsche Bank in London since 1995. He became the bank’s youngest managing director in history at the age of 29 and this year was among the ‘Young Global Leaders’ honoured by the World Economic Forum.

Aram is tasked with managing the bank’s 200 employees in the MENA region, where it offers investment-banking services, private wealth management and asset management.
