The UAE’s highest peak, Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), played host to the country’s highest concert by Czech composer and musician Michal Dvorak on Friday.
City of Mirrors, or Vivaldianno, marked the start of a series of entertainment events organised by Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA).
The live performance took place at 1,600 metres above sea level, with 1,200 guests ascending RAK’s famed mountain top. It merged Baroque compositions of Antonio Vivaldi with 3D visual effects and light shows.

“The sold-out event indicates that people in the UAE and outside have an appetite for these kind of events in the unique setting of Jebel Jais, the UAE’s highest peak,” commented Haitham Mattar, CEO of RAKTDA.
“This is the first of many such events to come to Jebel Jais. We chose Vivaldianno because it has a compelling story, steeped in history. We intend to bring events that resonate with deep history and culture – as that is one of the key pillars of our destination brand,” he added.

The performance was attended by Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
It assembled a large orchestra to cover classical and art-rock instrumentation on a specially-constructed mountain stage featuring large-format projections and sophisticated light design.
