Two-Michelin starred chef Sergi Arola has launched a new restaurant in Abu Dhabi, described as being a fresh take on Catalan cuisine.
Located at the Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat Al Beri, p&c by Sergi Arola is set on the mainland overlooking the Grand Mosque on Abu Dhabi island, creating a picturesque scene accompanied by jazz.
The destination also includes a roof-top gin bar.
Arola already has a reputation for creating dining destinations in Europe, South America and South Asia. His Abu Dhabi tapas menu will blend Mediterranean flavours with his unique Spanish twist, including a take on classic dishes such as patatas bravas, steak tartare, paella and risotto.
“Food is a necessity; but it should also be a pleasure,” Arola said, announcing the launch.
“Our creations, our menu; it’s an experience, flavour, colour, presentation and delivery, designed to be shared and enjoyed together. We’re looking to bring those elements to the dining table, so our guests can have the best time possible with friends and loved ones.”
Arola has been brought in to revamp the Shangri-La’s original Pearls & Caviar brand.
The hotel’s general manager Thomas Guss said the brand was an important part of the hotel’s history.
“The restaurant quality, service and ambiance will remain unchanged; we are simply bringing a top chef with a winning concept to further enhance our guests experience and knowledge of Michelin star cuisine,” he said.
“Adding to this a live jazz radio station, we think it will win the hearts and minds of all who visit.”
