Al Marjan Island (AMI) Company has forged a partnership with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts to launch its first resort in Ras Al Khaimah.
Construction of the project on Breeze Island will start next year and the resort is expected to be completed and start operations by 2020, said Andreas Mattmüller, chief operating officer, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Middle East and South Asia and architect Abdullah Rashed Al Abdouli, managing director of AMI Company.
The resort is one of the main 5-star strategic projects to be announced by AMI in 2016. The resort will boast 450 rooms, 120 branded residence, and 70 branded apartments and villas, in addition to world-class entertainment attractions, restaurants, cafes, and fitness facilities.
Al Abdouli said: “This partnership represents an iconic addition to the veritable gems on the picturesque AMI Island and it will increase our market share of the 5-star hotel rooms in Ras Al Khaimah.”
Mattmüller added: “It is always very exciting when we enter a new destination and Ras Al Khaimah is a fantastic addition to our portfolio. We have extensive experience operating large, beachfront resorts for families and teaming up with great partners to bring this project to fruition is something we are really looking forward to.”
