Nasser Al Khelaifi’s main job is running Paris St-Germain (PSG), the French football team bought by Qatar in 2011. The country’s riches have made it one of the world’s top teams, winning three Ligue 1 titles in a row. While European glory has so far evaded PSG, it seems that under Al Khelaifi, the Champions League trophy is inevitable. Earlier this year, PSG paid Manchester United a small fortune to prise Angel Di Maria away from Old Trafford. A childhood friend of the Emir, Al Khelaifi played on in the international tennis circuit, and represented his country in the Davis Cup on many occasions. He also heads up Qatar Sports Investments, an investment vehicle that also has stakes in FC Barcelona as well as several Doha properties. Al Khelaifi also runs beIN Sports (the sports arm of Al Jazeera Networks).
