A man was sentenced to jail, lashes and deportation from Saudi Arabia after being found guilty of receiving cash from youngsters in exchange for providing them access to indecent online material, it was reported.
The unnamed foreign national, who worked as a security guard at an internet cafe in Jeddah, received a two-month jail term and 50 lashes from the criminal court in the Red Sea city, reported Arabic daily Al-Watan.
The security guard was arrested by members of the kingdom’s religious police. Following investigations, it was revealed that the man provided access to explicit websites while other members of staff at the cafe were praying.
Following his sentence, he will will be deported back to his home country.
