When it comes to high-profile resignations, ex-IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn and News Corp’s Rebekah Brooks have certainly stolen the headlines over the last couple of months.

In the UAE, however, the spate of resignations has been particularly high recently, with Abu Dhabi reportedly laying off large numbers of foreign workers in a bid to lower costs and promote jobs for citizens.

But whether it’s a case of senior executives making the well-deserved switch towards retirement after decades spent in the job, or companies looking to take on fresh blood, many of the region’s most high-profile boardrooms are seeing change.
