Lamis Elhadidy is one half of Egypt’s biggest media couple; her husband is fellow CBC news anchor Amr Adeeb. Elhadidy is known for her fearless and forthright view and interview style. Last year, a case was filed against her on charges of ‘inciting chaos and threatening national security” by Egypt’s public prosecutor. She is also the CEO of Al Alam Al Youm (literally ‘The World Today’), Egypt’s first independent business newspaper. Elhadidy has also served as Cairo business correspondent for Al Jazeera between 1996 and 2004.
