UAE's Rotana to manage two Turkey hotels

Abu Dhabi-based hotel operator Rotana has signed a deal with Dap-Yapi to manage two of its hotels in Turkey as it looks to expand its footprint.

The hotelier, which is set to open eight new properties in the Middle East this year, will manage the Tango Arjaan by Rotana and Burgu Arjaan by Rotana hotels, both in Istanbul.

Once complete, the Burgu Arjaan by Rotana will comprise 222 hotel rooms while the Tango Arjaan by Rotana will comprise 188-rooms.

Rotana, which currently operates 46 hotels, is looking to boost its number of properties under management to 100 in the next few years, CEO and president Selim El Zyr said in December.

The group’s expansion is expected to create thousands of jobs, with staff numbers to increase from 10,800 to more than 17,000, El Zyr said.

New properties will include locations in Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, UAE, Jordan and Iraq.
