UAE meteorology centre warns of dense fog Sunday morning

Poor fog visibility has led to a spike in traffic incidents this month including a 44 car pileup on the road from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in which 22 passengers were injured

Dense fog conditions could affect visibility severely on Sunday morning, The UAE’s The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned, advising motorists to take all precautions necessary while driving.

“Fog formation is expected from 01:00 AM until 10:00 AM in Sunday,” the NCM said in a statement.

“Visibility which is expected to be less than 500 metres at times over some internal areas,” it added.

Poor visibility last week, the result of dense fog, caused over 500 accidents in Dubai last week, as well as a 44 car pile-up on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid road in Abu Dhabi, leaving 22 people injured.
