Mix FM, Lebanon won Station of the Year award at the Middle East’s first Middle East radiocast awards 2006. The prestigious Middle East radiocast awards 2006 were organised by radiocastme.com, a dedicated web portal for radio professionals in the Middle East. radiocastme.com is a wholly independent body with no affiliations to any station or broadcaster in the region.
The glittering dinner and awards ceremony was held at Madinat Jumeirah, The Arabian Resort, Dubai, UAE and hosted by Rick Houghton, former Dubai 92 presenter and managing partner of radiocast.
“The Middle East radiocast awards 2006 are the first opportunity to celebrate excellence within the Middle East radio industry. The awards were judged by a panel of well known and regarded professionals from the international arena and entries were critiqued according to their production value, creativity and use of the medium of radio,” said Ian Carless, managing partner, radiocast.
Entries for the Middle East radiocast awards 2006 were open to any radio station or network broadcasting from and to audiences via FM or AM transmitters in more than a dozen Arab countries.
Other winners included Yo! Sushi on Dubai 92 for Best Radio Commercial; Catboy, Dubai 92 for On Air Personality of the Year and Business Breakfast, Dubai Eye for Best Breakfast Show.
Ahmed Fahmy, Nogum FM, Egypt won Station Programmer of the Year and Raymond Gaspar, CEO, Radio One, Lebanon took a coveted Lifetime Achievement award. The awards are set to be held on an annual basis.
