Canon breaks world record

Canon has produced the world’s longest single print using a bubble jet technology. The 44 metre long printout was produce over five hours on Canon’s 44-inch wide W8200 bubble jet printer.

The 44 metre long printout was produce over five hours on Canon’s 44-inch wide W8200 bubble jet printer. “Canon Middle East is delighted to have broken this world record, as it clearly shows that Dubai is in the spotlight as the technology hub in the region, but is taking a prominent place on the world technology stage. Canon broke the world record at CeBit in Germany earlier this year – now we’ve broken it again here in the Middle East,” says Gordon Jones, president of Canon Middle East. “Setting new standards for both speed and quality in the print-industry was always Canon’s strength,” he adds.The W8200 is based on Canon’s proprietary bubble jet technology with a new print head incorporating 7,680 tiny nozzles, 1,280 for each of the six colours, delivering print speeds of two minutes per page.Canon intends to take the 44-metre print out and hang it from its building in Dubai Internet City (DIC).
