Lebanese telecoms provider Cedarcom is installing a Juniper system across its network, as part of a major upgrade to its infrastructure.
The telco is rolling out an IP-based network across Lebanon, which will allow it to deliver voice, video and data services with greater efficiency. Cedarcom will focus on providing DSL services with the new infrastructure.
“Lebanon is about to experience a boom in the ADSL market, and our IP network infrastructure must provide the performance, scalability and reliability to accommodate this growth, and provide a mission-critical connectivity resource for a wide range of business and residential customers throughout the country,” said Imad Tarabay, CEO of Cedarcom.

“The dynamic threat mitigation further differentiates our services by enabling our network to automatically alert customers to a problem, and direct them to where they can get help – unlike other ISPs which would automatically drop the connection without explanation to the customer.”
Cedarcom is deploying a range of Juniper equipment, including E- and M-series routing platforms, the SDX-300 Service Deployment System, Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) platforms and Integrated Security Gateway (ISG) series firewall and virtual private network (FW/VPN) systems.
