UK-based components vendor Connect3D has started beefing up its distribution channel in the Middle East. The company has named Bimal Kaul, previously of Western Digital, as regional sales manager for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region and has already appointed Aptec, Al Yousuf, Signet Technology Solutions and Al Hasoob as distributors.

“We will be investing in the region to build the Connect3D brand as a preferred brand and to achieve our objective we will be appointing the right business partners across the region that have a committed breadth of customer base,” commented Kaul.

Both Aptec and Al Yousuf will hold regional distribution rights for Connect3D graphics cards while Signet will focus on the UAE system builder market and Al Hasoob will cover Saudi Arabia. According to Kaul, Connect3D is also in discussions with a potential distribution partner in Egypt.

“The Middle East region has seen a big spurt in demand for the graphic add-in cards and with the advent of new generation gaming software, high resolution graphic cards are necessary for the right kind of impact while using this software,” said Darren Grasby, managing director at Connect Components, the company behind the Connect3D brand. “We strongly believe to grow in the region local presence will definitely make a great impact and enable us to understand the local needs better.”

Connect3D also intends to set up a local office and plans to provide a local RMA service for customers within the region as well. “The advantages that we will offer to system builders in the region is the quality of the ATI-based products and also the level of support that we will offer business partners,” said Kaul.

“We really intend to build up the brand awareness and will make sure that our distribution partners can make money pushing Connect3D products. Our top three priorities are to set up the distribution network, launch a channel loyalty programme and get a regional RMA centre up and running as quickly as possible,” he concluded.
