Revered just as highly in the GCC as he is in his home country, R. Seetharaman is one of the most sought after economists in the region and regularly appears on shows for CNBC and BBC World.
Quite apart from heading up the country’s third largest bank, Seetharaman is credited with transforming the company into the region’s best performing bank, a position it now has held for six years.
The CEO has scooped a number of prestigious awards in his career, including the Indian Hind Rattan Award in January, where he delivered a keynote speech in New Delhi on the global financial crisis in front of hundreds of dignitaries from across the globe.
The Indian banker has also bolstered economic ties between India and Qatar and is a strong advocate of corporate responsibility.
