Oki throws down gauntlet

On your marks, get set, go! That’s the call at the Oki stand as it challenges HP and Minolta-QMS to a printing speed test.

On your marks, get set, go! That’s the call at the Oki stand as it challenges HP and Minolta-QMS to a printing speed test. John Ross, Oki general manager for South East Europe and the Middle East says, “the purpose of this exercise is to allow users to judge the quality, speed and throughput of these three machines which are all aimed at the same end of the market, small to medium enterprises or small work groups within an organisation. “Our research shows that this segment of the market has either been ignored by printer manufacturers or left to slow and expensive-to-run inkjets.”We launched the C5000 series to address these needs by bringing to the market a network ready twenty page per minute (ppm) mono toner based printer, which is also a 12ppm colour toner based printer, at a price that is competitive to a 25ppm monochrome only printer. “This brings colour printing into this market segment for the first time.” The products are the Oki C5300N, the HP LaserJet 2500N and the Minolta-QMS 2350.
