Philips has announced it will be launching its next generation of advanced computer monitor design — exclusive to Philips — at the Gitex Computer Shopper exhibition. An update on Philips’ LightFrame software, LightFrame-2 will enable monitors to display still and moving images similar in quality to a television. The LightFrame monitor technology was originally launched by Philips last year to bridge the gap between computer and television display qualities. LightFrame-2 now brings that reality much closer. The new monitor technology will also boost clarity for normal computer software programs. For instance, LightFrame will ‘seek out’ images and video content within web pages (Internet Explorer only) and automatically boost their brightness and sharpness. Language support has also been improved.Software upgrades to Lightframe-2 are available free to owners of the original LightFrame at the Philips Monitors website (clickhere); as LightFrame is a combination software-hardware combination, the software works only for Philips LightFrame monitors.
