Sky Electronics is campaigning hard on a number of fronts at Gitex 2003. Topping the UAE-based distributor’s agenda are plans to build and educate its reseller community on its collection of AMD processors, AOpen components and locally assembled systems.”Our objective at the show is to bring all our partners together and explain our business model and how to carry this to their home market,” says Manoj Thacker, managing director, Sky Electronics. “We have to clearly define for our partners the difference between the components business and full solutions. This needs to be explained because some partners are jumping between these business units,” he adds.Sky’s stand in hall two is divided into two parts. First are the AOpen components, which make up the company’s ‘bare-bones’ PC business, and second is the company’s own Star Express and Expression range of locally assembled machines. The company is also promoting its pure components distribution business from the stand.
