Sun has expanded its range of Java offerings for Linux, with the release of connected device configuration (CDC) Java. The latest version is tailored for digital TV set-top boxes, in-car computers and other embedded devices, an area that is expected to see strong growth for the open source operating system.Sun is keen to promote Java for Linux, despite the fact that Linux is a direct competitor to its own Solaris operating system.
