The Commercial Bank of Iraq holds the honour of being the first bank to partner with MasterCard International to issue credit and debit cards across the conflict-ravaged nation.
And despite facing unimaginable hardships, the institution is growing from strength to strength.
Established in February 1992 as a full fledged commercial bank, it is today the largest private bank in Iraq with a wide network of branches.
It also boasts a strategic alliance with Ahli United Bank, which acquired a 49 percent stake in the Commercial Bank of Iraq in December 2005.
