The UAE is already counting down the days to the next public holiday.

For people in the country there will not be long to wit until the next public holiday.

Islamic New Year in the UAE

The Islamic New Year, also known as the Hijri New Year, marks the beginning of a new lunar year.

The first day of the Islamic year is observed by most Muslims on the first day of the month of Muharram.

Astronomers will announce the corresponding date of the Islamic New Year, with forecasts speculating it could fall on Wednesday, July 19.

Regardless of the date, the UAE has already announced the date for the public holiday in the country.

In November last year the country’s media office announced dates for all public holidays in the country for the full year of 2023.

It stated that Islamic New Year holiday will be given on Friday, July 21.

It means people in the United Arab Emirates will be able to look forward to another three-day weekend before the end of this month.
