UAE petrol prices to change for November 2024

Petrol prices fell across the country in October, as motorists were handed a fall of between 8 and 9 per cent for Super 98, Special 95, E-Plus 91 and diesel prices were cut by around 6.5 per cent.

It is the cheapest to fill up a tank in more than a year and the reduction in prices was welcomed by motorists who have seen prices tumble since last October.

In January 2024, E-Plus 91 was priced at AED2.64 a litre, while diesel was set at AED3 a litre.

With the price cuts last month, E-Plus 91 is now more cheaper (at AED2.47 a litre) than at the start of the year.

Special 95 and Super 98 are also cheaper now than at the start of the year, falling from AED2.71 to AED2.54 a litre and AED2.82 to 2.66 a litre respectively.

From October 1, the cost of filling up vehicles in the UAE has been:

• Super 98: AED2.66 a litre from AED2.90 in September
• Special 95: AED2.54 a litre from AED2.78 in September
• E-Plus: AED2.47 a litre from AED2.71 in September
• Diesel: AED2.60 a litre from AED2.78 in September

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Fuel Price Committee froze petrol prices in the UAE, preventing any changes.

However, in March 2021, as global oil prices began to rise, the controls were lifted to allow market forces to determine petrol prices once again.

Moreover, the fluctuation in petrol prices is also influenced by changes in crude oil prices worldwide.
