Donald Trump’s son believes Iran is “targeting” his father with a third assassination attempt because he would reimpose sanctions on the nation if re-elected as President of the United States. It comes as the Republican candidate boosted security personnel following US intelligence that there are “real and specific threats from Iran.”
In an exclusive interview with Arabian Business, Trump’s son, businessman Eric, said:
“Iran are targeting him. There are people out there trying to kill him right now.”
“You better believe he’d reimpose sanctions. It’s one of the reasons that they’re trying to kill him.”
Trump assassination attempts
The former president survived an assassination attempt on July 13, when he was wounded, and another person was killed in a shooting at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Then on September 15, a secret service agent spotted a rifle pointing through a fence at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. He was arrested as the former president was playing a round of golf.
Eric Trump told Arabian Business that any attack on his father from the Iranians would lead to severe repercussions, warning, “I think there’d be incredible consequences to pay, God forbid, Iran did something. You’d have a country up in arms. But he is surrounded by incredible people, and I’ve never seen so much security in my life.”
On regional stability, Eric Trump remarked his father is the “only person” who can bring stability and peace in the Middle East as fighting between Hezbollah and Israel intensifies.
“I think he’s going to fix it, there’s a lot of levers to pull and he’s not playing games. These people should be able to live in safety and peace and with tough leadership that’s going to happen. If there’s one person who can do it and if there’s one person who’s done it in the past, that’s Donald Trump. I do believe that he will quickly restore sanity to so much of the world, which feels like every day is becoming more insane,” he told Arabian Business.

Nothing is off the table, with Trump accepting that it could take his father meeting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in person: “He’s certainly sat across the table from many adversaries and befriended them. My father’s never been afraid to talk to anybody and I think at the right time he certainly would speak to Iran’s leader.”
Eric Trump also took the opportunity to slam Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris for her record on the conflict, stating that she has “failed miserably” dealing with the situation and that she couldn’t “show you the Middle East on a map.”
His comments come shortly after a high-profile meeting between Harris and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday. The two world leaders discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, with the UAE President reiterating the UAE’s firm belief that regional stability is in the best interest of all and stressing the critical need for all parties to pursue a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
Both parties expressed confidence that UAE-US relations will continue to flourish, driven by a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
