Nobel Peace Prize laureate and former US President Jimmy Carter passed away at the age of 100 on Sunday at his home in Georgia.
He is survived by his four children, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
The Carter Center has announced that observances will be held in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., followed by a private interment in Plains, Georgia.
Details regarding the state funeral, including public events and motorcade routes, are yet to be finalised.

Carter became the 39th President of the US in 1977, his presidency lasted for one term. He ran for reelection in 1980, however, lost the office to Ronald Reagan. The longest-lived president in US history was later known for his humanitarian efforts, winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.
