Haifa Hussein is well known for her appearances in Khaliji television dramas, but last year the popular actress and singer crossed the line from fiction to fact, earning the sympathy of a nation in return.
She shocked viewers when she revealed on the show ‘Qamar Wa Thalth Nojoom’ (‘Three Stars and a Moon’) that she was divorcing her husband and the father of her son Saed. No reason was given for the split.
Hussein has always maintained that she began acting ‘by chance’, and credits director Ahmad Al Mqala for changing her life. A former member of the Bahraini National Chorus, she is known to shun the limelight and remains close to her mother and her sisters.
