Private sector workers in the UAE will get a three-day holiday for Eid Al Adha, it was announced on Tuesday.
The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation issued a circular saying that the holiday will start on Monday August 20, with workers returning to work on Thursday August 23.
On Sunday it was announced that the UAE’s public sector workers will get a week’s holiday for Eid Al Adha this year.

Ministries, and federal department workers will start their Eid Al Adha break on Sunday, August 19, lasting until August 23rd, with official work resuming on Sunday, August 26.
The UAE cabinet’s announcement came after the Saudi Supreme Court said the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah would begin on August 12, meaning Eid Al Adha will fall on August 21.
