In the wake of the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria, international sports stars have expressed their sympathy and solidarity with the victims.

Merih Demiral, a Turkish soccer player who currently plays for Atalanta, has taken the initiative to raise funds for the victims by auctioning off signed jerseys from his former Juventus colleagues.

The charity auction began with Demiral approaching former teammate Ronaldo, who agreed to auction off his shirt to raise money. Ronaldo’s shirt fetched the highest bid of $212,450.

The success of the auction quickly caught the attention of fans and other football stars, who began donating their signed jerseys to the fundraiser. Erling Holland, Neymar Jr., Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Karim Benzema are just a few of the players who have sent their signature jerseys for the campaign.

All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Turkish Ahbab Association to assist those affected by the earthquake.

The earthquake, which had a magnitude of 7.8, hit southern Turkey and northern Syria last Monday, followed by another earthquake hours later with a magnitude of 7.6, and hundreds of violent aftershocks. The earthquakes caused loss of lives and property in both countries.

The generosity of these football stars in raising funds for the victims of the earthquake is heartwarming and shows the power of sports to bring people together for a good cause.
