The UAE Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement signed seven new Ministry of Defence contracts worth AED6.427bn ($1.75bn) during the fourth day of Dubai Airshow 2025, reinforcing the UAE’s growing defence procurement momentum.
The deals contributed to a cumulative four-day total of AED24.443bn ($6.66bn) in local and international agreements.
The signings highlight the UAE’s continued investment in strengthening its defence and security industrial ecosystem.
UAE defence contracts
Spokespersons Abdulla Ahmed Al Saeedi and Manea Abdulkarim Al Mansoori, Tawazun detailed the local and international agreements signed on behalf of the Ministry of Defence.
Abdulla Ahmed Al Saeedi outlined four local contracts with a combined value of AED6.258bn ($1.7bn):
- Calidus: Procurement and supply of Al Heda worth AED 6.142bn ($1.68bn)
- International Golden Group (IGG): Procurement of drones valued at AED 57.858m ($15.75m)
- Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments (ADASI): Procurement of radars worth AED 37.684m ($10.26m)
- Supreme Professional Services: Follow-on support, spare parts and maintenance for radars worth AED 20m ($5.45m)
He added that three international contracts were also signed, totalling AED 169.616m ($46.17m):
- Thales (France): Procurement of thermal weapon sights worth AED 75.966m ($20.68m)
- CS Group (France): Purchase of systems valued at AED 32.240m ($8.77m)
- MBDA (France): Follow-on support, spare parts and repair for MICA, Black Shaheen and Mistral for aircraft, worth AED 61.410m ($16.72m)
Four-day total reaches AED 24.443bn
Over the first four days of Dubai Airshow 2025, Tawazun signed a total of 27 contracts on behalf of the Ministry of Defence and Abu Dhabi Police, with a cumulative value of AED24.443bn ($6.66bn).
This reflects the strong pace of procurement and the expansion of collaborative opportunities across both domestic and international defence companies.
Manea Abdulkarim Al Mansoori emphasised that the results achieved across the first four days demonstrate the UAE’s commitment to developing an integrated, innovative and strategically driven defence and security sector.
He noted that Tawazun continues to foster a competitive environment for the private sector, strengthening its role in enhancing the UAE’s aviation, space and defence capabilities.
He concluded that these achievements reaffirm the UAE’s position as a global hub for advanced technologies and future industries.
