The UAE Ministry of Interior has issued weather alerts as rain and stormy weather takes over parts of the country.
Alerts were issued on Twitter urging motorists to be careful while driving due to scattered showers of varied intensity and limited visibility.
“Due to the exposure of several areas in the country to fluctuations in weather conditions accompanied by heavy rains and winds, please take care and caution while driving the vehicle and avoid valleys and places where water flows,” the weather alert read.
Residents in the Emirates took to social media to share videos and images of their view of the rain.
Several other alerts were also made by The National Center of Meteorology alerting residents about areas with rain and urging caution for safety.
UAE safety measures
- Avoid driving unless absolutely necessary. If necessary, drive with caution and remain vigilant and alert to ensure the safety of all road users.
- Turn on low-beam headlights when visibility is reduced.
- Follow weather forecasts via official channels and be ready to comply with instructions issued by relevant authorities.
