UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has called on residents to maintain the country’s values of “peaceful coexistence and understanding”.

In a message on X (formerly known as Twitter), Sheikh Mohamed emphasised the importance of security and safety in the Emirates.

“More than 200 nationalities live side by side in the UAE, all contributing to the ongoing development of our nation. Security and safety are the bedrock of our society and we encourage everyone who calls the UAE home to uphold these principles of peaceful coexistence and understanding,” he said.

This statement follows Sheikh Mohamed’s previous remarks on the significance of the UAE’s diverse population in supporting national progress.

“The people of the UAE are central to our efforts to progress,” he said during a Union Day address in December, marking 52 years since the formation of the UAE.

“It is through devotion and selflessness towards the nation that true accomplishments are realised,” he added.

Sheikh Mohamed further highlighted the importance of unity and loyalty, describing them as “the firm foundations laid by the late Sheikh Zayed and his brothers for our nation that underpin our achievements and will continue to do so in the coming decades, God willing.”
