AB In Focus: Supporting SME growth is vital to realising Dubai’s vision as a global innovation hub, says Dubai Chambers PCEO

Adapting to AI and sustainability and fostering strong public-private ties are key to seizing new opportunities, Dubai Chambers PCEO Mohammad Ali Rashid Lootah says

In a video interview with Arabian Business on the sidelines of the Dubai Business Forum this week, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, outlined the work the organisation has been doing to make the emirate’s business ecosystem more resilient despite global headwinds and support the burgeoning SME sector.

As the apex body for Dubai’s business community, Dubai Chambers acts as a platform and facilitator across key economic pillars like foreign direct investment, globalisation, digital transformation, and emerging markets – which were key topics discussed at the Forum. Lootah noted these areas will see continued growth and technological disruption, creating opportunities.

He highlighted how artificial intelligence, remote working trends, and sustainability will shape the future economy. Dubai Chambers aims to help companies adapt through initiatives, research, and policy advocacy by liaising with the public sector.

Supporting SMEs, the lifeblood of the emirate’s economy, also remains a priority. Lootah said Dubai Chambers works closely with the government to improve regulations and address startup and growing business bottlenecks.

The Forum drew over 2,000 delegates from all corners of the globe and across an array of industries. The high-profile event allowed global business leaders, thought leaders and key decision-makers to connect, discuss current and future economic trends, and explore partnerships within the emirate.

Lootah expressed confidence that ongoing public-private collaboration through Dubai Chambers will continue to help capitalise on opportunities while supporting SME growth. The organisation remains focused on facilitating the emirate’s rise as a global hub for business and trade.
