Video: UAE earmarks billions as inflation hits low-income Emiratis

The reformed social welfare programme includes new types of allowances and subsidies for low-income nationals

The UAE recently announced a set of “inflation allowances” for poor Emiratis, which include subsidies for fuel, food, electricity, and water.

The move is part of wider reforms in the country’s social welfare programme for locals, which now has a total value of AED 28 billion.
