Gallery: Sultan Al Qasimi opens largest mosque in Sharjah
The Sharjah Mosque is an architectural and aesthetic masterpiece that is added to the Sharjah’s vital important projects that serve a large segment of the society, especially residents of Al Tayy Suburb, Al Suyoh Suburb, and Tilal City in Sharjah.


The Sharjah Mosque located at the intersection of Mleiha Road and the Emirates Road in Tay area at a cost of AED300 million.

Equipped with two ablution areas and 100 wheelchairs for the elderly.

Accommodates more than 25,000 male and female worshipers.

Sharjah Ruler watched a documentary about the various stages of constructing the mosque.

The mosque has been equipped to welcome non-Muslim visitors and lovers of knowledge from around the world.

The parking and bus lot of the Mosque can accommodate about 2,260 cars and buses and there are 300 parking spaces inside the mosque building and 1400 outside besides 60 for buses, and 500 outside the mosque fence, in addition to 16 large sunshades in the outer areas.

Central Bank of the UAE has issued two commemorative coins on the opening of Sharjah Mosque by H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi performed Al Isha and Al Tarawih prayers along with a large number of sheikhs, senior officials and a host of worshippers from the different parts of the country.

The Mosque has 6 gates and entrances, including 4 public entrances, two women’s entrances, one VIP and one for buses.
