The Furby Boom! by Hasbro is expected to be one of the most highly sought after presents this year.

Pop stars One Direction have been immortalised in doll form, and their popularity in the charts is sure to translate into sales of the toys.

He may appear to resemble the royal baby, but makers Zapf Creation say Baby George is not based on the little prince. Either way, sales should go through the roof this Christmas.

Man’s best friend gets a mechanical makeover, thanks to Character Option’s Tesksta Robotic Puppy.

Children’s tablets are also expected to sell well, including learning tool LeapPad Ultra, by Leapfrog.

It wouldn’t be a toy list without Lego featuring somewhere. The iconic company’s City Coast Guard set is anticipated to sell very well.

Another perennial favourite, Monopoly, also makes the list. Monopoly Empire by Hasbro should be one of the best selling board games.

The Monster High 13 Wishes Doll by Mattel has been lauded as a potentially big seller this Christmas.

For the more active child, the Nerf N-Strike Elite RapidStrike CS-18 by Hasbro will get the blood pumping.

Rather more sedate is the Robo Fishbowl by Zuru-Geemac, which is also slated to rank well in the best-sellers list this year.
