Bahrain-based mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company BRAVE CF announced Flavio Queiroz Velimurad will replace Velimurad Alkhasov for the inaugural 125-pound world title in the BRAVE CF 78 tournament in Brazil.
The announcement comes weeks after it announced a Velimurad Alkhasov vs Edilceu Alves fight at the headline BRAVE CF 78 event.
The MMA company, however, did not disclose the reason for Alkhasov pulling out of the title fight.
Alkhasov’s pullout will now make the main event an all-Brazilian affair at BRAVE CF’s return tournament to the Latin American country.
The company said regardless of where the event takes place, Flavio was next in line after Alves and Alkhasov following two gigantic KO victories, and will now have the chance to make his prophecy come true.
Upon signing with the MMA compny and in all his subsequent appearances, Queiroz claimed he would become the first-ever BRAVE CF Flyweight world champion.
‘’I’ve been a champion in all of the previous promotions I’ve fought in. I believe the BRAVE CF world title is waiting for me. After I beat Zach Makovsky, this was the only fight to make, and I’m glad I will get the chance to fulfill my destiny’’, said Flavio after learning he would fight for the title.
However, he has a huge task ahead of him. Edilceu Alves is coming off two dominant victories under the BRAVE CF banner and is riding an overall streak of six wins in all organisations.
The event takes place in association with leading local promotion Victorious Fighting Entertainment and will mark the return of the most global MMA organisation in the world to Brazil.
This will be the fifth overall Brave Combat Federation event in Brazilian soil, and the fourth to feature at least one world title fight.
