Barclays Wealth names new head for MENA unit

Rory Gilbert to move from UK, Ireland position to head up private banking in the MENA region

Rory Gilbert, the managing
director and head of high net worth business in the UK and Ireland at
Barclays Wealth, has been appointed as private banking head for the
Middle East and North Africa, replacing Soha Nashaat.

“We can
confirm that Rory Gilbert has assumed the role of head of Middle East
and North Africa, International Private Banking – EMEA at Barclays
Wealth,” the bank said in an e-mailed statement in response to
questions from Bloomberg News.

“Nashaat will be assuming a client and
strategic advisory role within Barclays Wealth.”

Nashaat had been the chief executive officer for Barclays Wealth in Middle East and North Africa since 2006.
