The UAE is no stranger to some rather spectacular building designs. The Aldar headquarters and Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi and Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab in Dubai among residents’ favourites.
But all of those might soon be topped by concept designs for a new luxury desert eco retreat set to be located in Liwa by the Baharash Architecture firm, TimeOutDubai.com reported.
Designed to be completely self-sufficient for energy it uses solar energy panels on the roof to generate and store clean electricity. Other features include smart glass windows to offer instant privacy at the flick of a switch and an indoor herb garden.
Designed to honour Bedouin traditions of Liwa in the South West of the UAE the sustainable eco-lodge also has a central fire place for Bedouin-style social bonding.
