The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has announced that the Emirates Identity cards can now be used at e-gates at Terminal Three.
Previously, any card holders had to register to use one of the 28 fast-track gates at the terminal.
Terminals one and two are expected to follow shortly, meaning smooth entry for all travellers.

Earlier this year it was announced any airline passengers passing through Dubai airport would begin paying a small levy of AED35.

Collecting the fee, which came into effect on June 30, 2016, is the responsibility of the individual airlines, which means it has likely been added at the time of booking. Those under the age of two, as well as cabin crew and transit passengers whose arrival and departure flight number are same are exempt.
Money raised from the charge will be used to help improve the infrastructure at Dubai’s airports in line with targets of handling 100 million passengers by 2023.
