A 14-year-old teenager from Dubai has created a talking cigarette packet that will warn smokers about the dangers of tobacco.
Achilles Ash, an Indian national, said his invention works like a musical birthday card with a microchip playing the warning message when the packet is opened, The National reported.
The idea won him the Sharjah Award for Excellence in Education last year, the paper said.
The pupil at The International School of Choueifat in Dubai, has been against smoking since his grandfather took him to a shop and bought him a cigar after asking about smoking.
“I tried a puff and that was it. I started coughing and found it very hard to breathe. Since that day, I have hated smoking,” said the teenager who also distributes anti-smoking posters during his holidays.
