Irish celebrity chef Rachel Allen has signed a number of new deals to sell her branded products in the Middle East, helping to boost the profits at her holding company, it was reported.
The chef has sold almost three million books worldwide and recently signed a deal with the BBC to broadcast her TV cookery programmes in more than 30 countries, has seen increased interest for her recipes and products in the Middle East and Asia.
“We are presently working on another deal in Istanbul and one in Hong Kong… Rachel is really striking a chord in the likes of Turkey, the Middle East and South-East Asia and a lot of time, money and effort was spent last year developing those markets and that is now paying off,” Isaac Allen, her manager and husband, told the Irish media.
Already this year, deals have been signed in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Istanbul, he added.
As a result, revenue for Rachel Allen’s holding company increased 40 percent in the last year and is forecast to make a profit in 2013, compared to a loss in 2011.
