Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways to operate shuttle flights for FIFA World Cup fans

Jazeera Airways flies to 29 destinations across the Middle East, India and Europe.

Kuwait-based budget carrier, Jazeera Airways is geared to offer six shuttle services on match days for the upcoming World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

These flights will be between Kuwait and Qatar from November 20, a day earlier than planned to December 18.

The tickets for tournaments can be booked through the official website of Jazeera Airways in early September with flight schedules to be announced.

The airline will fly football enthusiasts from Kuwait to Hamad International Airport in Doha.

For the knock-out stages, four flights a day will be operated and three for the final match on December 18.

In a statement, Jazeera Airways advised the passengers to ensure they should arrive “ensure fans get to Doha around four hours before kick-off and leave back to Kuwait around four hours after the final whistle. Passengers on shuttle flights will fly out and return within a 24-hour period and do not need accommodation.”

“We are excited to be able to offer flights for fans from Kuwait to the World Cup. This is a once in a lifetime event for us to have a World Cup on our doorstep and demand is expected to be high for all flights,” said Jazeera Airways’ CEO Rohit Ramachandran.

“We are confident that the tournament will be a great success for Qatar. Bookings will be open for all flights to the tournament at the carrier’s website. Tickets will go on sale in early September following approval of the flight schedules by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority,” he added.

Additionally, fans travelling to Doha must be in possession of a match day ticket and have signed up for the Hayya Card entry system into Qatar.

Apart from Jazeera airways, several other airlines are offering shuttle services to Qatar alongside rising demands reported by wealthy football fans looking to private jets ahead of Qatar World Cup.

In the Dubai-Doha route, the World Cup frenzy has already led to a 133 percent jump in advance air ticket bookings till July, with travel services firms seeing a continued uptick in demand for advance bookings for travel during November-December period.

The World Cup final will be played on December 18.
