Dubai developer Nakheel has announced it is building on the success of its Deira Islands Night Souk launch with a new retail development – Warsan Souk – opening up yet more opportunities for young UAE entrepreneurs.

Nakheel said in a statement that it has launched and leased 90 percent of more than 1,000 shops and over 30 restaurants at Warsan Souk, with exclusive bookings available for local businessmen and women.

This is in line with Nakheel’s vision of supporting SMEs and local entrepreneurship, the company said.

Warsan Souk is unveiled three weeks after Nakheel launched Deira Islands Night Souk, where all 5,300 units were leased to UAE tradesmen and women within five days.

Located between Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Manama Road, next to International City, Warsan Souk will be a modern take on the traditional souk.

Spread across eight buildings, Warsan Souk will have more than 1,000 shops including two department stores – one at either end of the souk.

There will also be over 30 cafes and restaurants, with areas for indoor and alfresco dining. Warsan Souk will occupy two floors – ground and mezzanine – with most outlets being accessible via their own dedicated entrance and from within the souk itself.
