Citizens of Oman can now obtain a six-month tourist visa to visit Russia, a report by the Times of Oman said, citing the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman.

Starting March 6, the Russian government has allowed citizens of Oman to obtain a regular tourist visa for a six-month period.

However, this will be on the basis of a confirmed hotel reservation or any other place of residence.

“This came through a statement from the embassy, which was monitored by Times of Oman,” the report said.

Omani citizens can apply for the visa by submitting the following documents:

  • A passport valid for a period of no less than 6 months from the date of travel,
  • A filled-out visa form,
  • A receipt for payment of fees of visa and health insurance policy,
  • A confirmed reservation for a hotel or other accommodation.

The consolidated list of classified hotels, ski resorts and beaches are published on the website of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, as well as on the website of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the European country, the report added.
