Saudi Arabia ranked second cheapest to purchase retail gas, at just US$0.45 a gallon

Saudi Arabia has ranked the world’s second cheapest country to purchase retail gas behind with the average cost of a gallon of fuel setting drivers back US$0.45.

Buying petrol in the world’s largest oil exporter is US$0.39 more expensive than Venezuela, the world’s cheapest country to purchase gas, according to the Bloomberg Gas Price Ranking.

Kuwait and the UAE rank third and fifth with the average cost of a gallon of petrol priced at US$0.81 and $1.77, respectively.

The Bloomberg Gas Price Ranking sorts 60 countries by average retail price and by “pain at the pump”, which measures the percentage of average daily income needed to buy a gallon of fuel.
