Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo, who now plays for Saudi League side Al Nassr, has sent a plane filled with supplied to aid those affected by the Turkey-Syria earthquake.

The former Manchester United striker has funded the provision of tents, food packages, pillows, blankets, beds, baby food and milk, and medical supplies to support the ongoing humanitarian effort.

Turkey struck by earthquake again

Turkish and Syrian communities are still reeling from the aftermath of two devastating earthquakes that left over 50,000 people dead last month.

The destruction caused by the earthquakes has been catastrophic, with over 160,000 buildings collapsing and more than 500,000 people being evacuated from the 11 affected provinces in Turkey. In addition, 184 people suspected of complicity have been arrested, according to Sky Sports.

Ronaldo meets Syrian boy

He was last seen fulfilling the dreams of a Syrian boy, Nabil Saeed. In a video shared on social media, Saeed expressed his desire to meet Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward heard his plea and invited him to watch Al Nassr’s match against Al Batin in Riyadh.

Saeed met Ronaldo before the match and was delighted to receive a high-five and a big hug from the football star.

“When I saw Ronaldo, I thought it was a dream. I didn’t believe myself. When this dream would end, I didn’t know. I pray to God that it will not be a dream,” Saeed told Reuters.

“I wish everyone could see Ronaldo. He is a very nice person,” Saeed added.
