Saudi Arabia has announced a customs exemption on industrial businesses as it looks to further diversify and grow its economy.

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has launched a customs exemption service for experimental production through the Senaei platform to assist industrial facilities holding industrial licences while in the construction phase.

This new initiative eliminates customs duties on raw materials used in experimental production within specified quantities, boosting the competitiveness of the industrial sector.

It aligns with the ministry’s commitment to provide support and incentives to industrial investors at every stage of their projects.

The service specifically assists industrial facilities in research and development efforts, experimental production activities, workforce training on production procedures and lines, and quality assessments of materials.

To apply for the exemption service, follow these three steps:

  • First, log in to the service using the industrial facility’s account on the Senaei platform
  • Second, submit the application through the dedicated icon
  • Finally, await the exemption decision

The ministry encourages those interested in leveraging this service to apply via the Senaei platform, which offers a suite of electronic services to bolster industrial facilities.
