Saudi Arabia drug bust: Over 3 million narcotic pills seized in Riyadh smuggling operation

Three citizens were arrested with amphetamine pills hidden in a lorry

Saudi Arabia released a video titled ‘War on Drugs’ highlighting the success in thwarting an attempt to smuggle 3,049,451 narcotic tablets into the kingdom. The pills were concealed in the cavities of a lorry.

Three Saudi citizens were arrested in connection with the crime, over three million amphetamine tablets were seized. Legal actions have been taken against the suspects and they have been directed to Public Prosecution.

In December, Arabian Business reported on the announcement by the Saudi Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority of the initiation of several criminal cases. Legal proceedings against the accused are underway.
